ISO’s 2011/2012 season was remarkable in many ways. Enrollment surpassed 300. In fact, there were 54% more students enrolled than just two years ago. The sold-out Carnegie Hall concert will remain a highlight in all our memories for many years. And the ISO experience was enhanced by coachings from professional orchestra musicians from the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and New York Pops Orchestra and masterclasses from principal players from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai String Quartet, and the American Brass Quintet.
Next season holds the promise of more exciting experiences for ISO students with special coachings, a workshop with the London Philharmonic, and a tour for the Symphonic Band.
More than two-thirds of this year’s students have already auditioned for next season. Other students wishing to join an ISO ensemble will be able to audition in September. Call the ISO office for information.
