Welcome to ISO!
Since one of the most important aspects of making music is its
communal nature, playing in an orchestra is integral to the growth
of young musicians. ISO welcomes students of all ages and abilities; provided that they must be able to read music. Students are required to continue private instruction and/or enrollment in their school music program in addition to their participation in ISO.
Auditions for all ensembles are held annually in June, September and January. Candidates at all levels are required to play a classical piece of their own choosing that represents their most accomplished repertoire. To schedule an audition, download the Registration Form below, fill it out and mail it, with the registration fee, to ISO, 1556 Third Avenue, Suite 601, New York, NY 10128. You will be called to schedule an audition. For a detailed list of audition requirements for any of our six ensembles, download our Guidelines for Admission.
If you have missed the auditions for the 2009-2010 Season, please contact the ISO office to inquire about space in any of our six ensembles or Chamber Music program.
An audition will be heard only if all registration, commitment forms and the non-refundable enrollment fee have been received. Please read below under 'Tuition and Fees'.)
