The ISO Symphony is one of the finest youth orchestras in the metropolitan area and its members are among the most talented young musicians in and around New York.
The Symphony appears in major concert halls in New York City. Recent performances have been at Avery Fisher and Alice Tully halls, Symphony Space, the New York Botanical Garden and Carnegie Hall. The orchestra also presents community concerts in neighborhood centers, churches, schools and museums. Membership is by audition only. A registration fee but no tuition is
required from students who win a place in this 100% scholarship ensemble. There is NO TUITION.
A concerto competition is held each winter
and is open to gifted orchestra members who have spent at least one year in the ISO
Symphony. Competition winners have performed as soloists
in many venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully and Avery Fisher halls, and
the New York Botanical Garden.
